We started on the desktop at home and received media coverage throughout Germany (see clippings on the right).
After having developed many successful ideas and solutions in different areas, I began to concentrate more and more on marketing. I discovered time and time again that many companies and many individuals had great products and talents. But what good is it if nobody knows about it?
In 2004 I took over the website www.kunst.ag ("kunst" is German for "art"), an online platform where artists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland can show and sell their art. That meant I could bring together two of my "loves": Art and marketing. There are so many artists creating outstanding art that no one ever sees - let alone buys - if it is not promoted.
What makes the difference between a successful artist and a failing artist?
The answer is: a successful artist is a famous artist.
How does an artist become famous?
To find an answer to this question I started researching the book market. There must have been an artist or a gallerist who put his secrets of success on paper. During my research, I found the book "Promoting & Selling Your Art" by the American artist and bestselling author Carole Katchen.
Reading the book I continuously found hints and tricks from Carole that I as an entrepreneur and marketing expert was also using successfully myself. It was instantly clear to me that this book would help any artist to become famous and successful.
I contacted Carole Katchen at the beginning of 2006 and we quickly came to an agreement. A few months later I published "Kunst erfolgreich verkaufen" (selling art successfully) as an eBook in German. The eBook has sold well from the start and continuously receives very positive feedback from artists. This shows that still today it delivers what Carole promises: the successful promotion of the artist and the sale of his art.
In 2008 we also published the English eBook "Promoting & Selling Your Art" to give as many artists as possible the access to this precious and proven knowledge.
Because of the great feedback we have received for "Promoting & Selling Your Art" in 2009, Carole wrote this completely new eBook "21 Ways to Sell Your Art in Hard Times" to help artists to turn these hard times into their times.
